Kindred Hospital Arizona - Scottsdale is part of a network that also includes Kindred Hospital Arizona - Phoenix and Kindred Hospital Arizona - Phoenix Northwest. Our hospital is a 50-bed acute care hospital that specializes in the care of long-term patients suffering from catastrophic illnesses. We are certified by Medicare and accredited by The Joint Commission.
Kindred Healthcare, Inc. through its subsidiaries operates more than 80 intensive care hospitals throughout the United States for patients who suffer from catastrophic illnesses and require lengthy hospital stays or long-term care.
Kindred Hospital Arizona - Scottsdale opened May 20, 2002. Patients come to us primarily from general acute care hospitals, usually directly from intensive care units.
Kindred hospitals have notable success with weaning patients from ventilators. Utilizing an established and proven weaning protocol, our hospitals have an excellent wean rate for patients on a ventilator for longer than two weeks. Ventilator and other respiratory patients are attended by a pulmonologist. The most modern technology is utilized in delivering care to patients including evaluation of breathing parameters and metabolic studies to evaluate nutrition. Care is provided using a team approach focusing on patient-centered care. Kindred is also noted for its successful wound care program.
Kindred Hospital Arizona - Scottsdale believes that families are extremely important to the recovery process of patients. Patient visitation is encouraged and visitors of all ages are allowed. (A private dining room may be used for family gatherings.)
