John: A Consistent Recovery

After several days of experiencing heartburn, John visited his cardiologist, who found that several stents placed in his heart had collapsed. John was admitted to a short-term acute care hospital for bypass surgery, and when complications occurred he ended up in a coma with pneumonia. “At that point I was preparing to die,” John said. “I just didn’t think I would ever get home. Every day the doctors and nurses would say I looked good and I believed that helped me get better.”

The nurses Paul and Kenny had a great attitude and made sure I was comfortable. They always brought me popsicles. Ivy was very thorough in cleaning my trach area. Jennifer went out of her way to get food I liked, and if something wasn’t right she took care of it. Bill was always in a great mood which kept my attitude upbeat. Jackie as funny and would make me laugh. Suzy always went out of her way to make sure I was clean and comfortable. I’m very appreciative of the care I received here.”
